Photozone.de just reviewed the Sony 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 SAM DT , lens kit for Sony Alpha DSLR. Overall , the lens is generally a very good performer except for its mechanical parts. The lens body is made of plastic down to the lens mount.
In its recent review , PhotoClubAlpha gives rating 4.5 /5 to Sony A580 DSLR. The Sony A580 is the latest consumer-grade DSLR from Sony , featuring 16.2MP sensor , 1080p full HD movies, 7fps burst shooting, 15 AF points, and 3 inch fold-out LCD.
The Alpha 580 replaces our Alpha 700 in everyday use for 2011. When the A700 is compared with it, the shortfall is more than clear; no high speed shutter running to 1/8,000th with flash at 1/250th, no glass prism, no CF card slot, no mirror lockup in Focus Check LV mode, and the whole build quality.
