Apple updates digital camera RAW support (Canon 600D etc)

Apple just published an update for their RAW library to support new cameras and also fix some issues. Version 3.6 will add support these cameras:

  • Canon EOS Rebel T3 / 1100D / Kiss X50
  • Canon EOS Rebel T3i / 600D / Kiss X5
  • Olympus E-5
  • Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ100
  • Pentax K-r
  • Pentax K-5

and fix some processing issues with:

  • Nikon D7000
  • Nikon COOLPIX P7000
  • Panasonic Lumix DMC-GF1
  • Panasonic Lumix DMC-GH2

Download the update at digital camera raw compatibility update page. The update requires OS X 10.5.8 or 10.6.5 or later.

Apple release Aperture 3.1.1

Apple just released free updates for Aperture 3.x users. This update improves performances and stability of the application along with problem fixes such as : compatibility with iLife Media Browser, problems during upgrading libraries and some publishing issues to MobileMe,Facebook,Flickr.

There is no information regarding compatibility with the latest camera RAW format ( Nikon D7000, Pentax K-5 etc ). Some user claimed that it still doesnt support D7000 raw format ( link ) . Sad :(
